VG MSO Ltd have been in operation for 150 years providing complete sustainable packaging solutions from design through to delivery of cartonboard packaging and labels to the food, drink, pharmaceutical and healthcare markets. We currently employ 160+ people at our factory on the Castlereagh Road in Belfast and have recently become part of the Van Genechten Packaging Group which spans 15 sites across the UK and Europe.
Following significant investment in the business we have an exciting opportunity in our Die Cutting Department to join a successful, established and growing organisation as a Trainee Die Cutter.
Main tasks of Job:
- Setting the machine to attain effective running and ensuring that the ‘first off’ approval is as per customer specification and conducted as outlined within our company procedures
- Running the machine at optimum speed whilst ensuring that the appropriate standard of quality is maintained
- Implementation of the Companies Maintenance program & maintaining a clean and tidy work environment and completing associated documentation
- Competent within the PMR role (additional training provided)
- Compliance with relevant procedures to ensure work is of acceptable quality and systems followed
- Liaising with your departmental colleagues & STL to ensure efficient processing of work
- Compliance with all relevant procedures relating to Hygiene, Pharmaceutical, Quality, Chain of Custody, Environmental and any other Standards that the company may wish to introduce plus Health & Safety regulations
- Performing other duties deemed necessary by Department Manager to ensure the efficient operation of the department

Essential Requirements
- Experience of working with machinery and/or factory processes
- Previous experience working with a high level of attention detail
- Applicants should be able to demonstrate good team work and communication skills
- Willingness to work various shifts and overtime as required
- Applicants are required to complete a mechanical Aptitude test to assist with the selection process.
Desirable Requirements
- GCSE passes in English and Maths or equivalent
- Previous machine setting or machine minding experience
- A working knowledge of Die Cutting
