VG MSO Ltd have been in operation for 150 years providing complete sustainable packaging solutions from design through to delivery of cartonboard packaging and labels to the food, drink, pharmaceutical and healthcare markets. We currently employ 170 people at our factory on the Castlereagh Road in Belfast and have recently become part of the Van Genechten Packaging Group which spans 14 sites across the UK and Europe. Following this exciting integration we have an opportunity in our Engineering Department to join a well established team of print professionals in a successful, established and growing organisation as an Electrical Engineer.

Job Description:

  • Maintenance of plant & equipment
  • Ensure that equipment is working to deliver customer and manufacturing requirements
  • Schedule and perform preventative maintenance activities
  • Interact with departments on factory floor and co-ordinate equipment repairs
  • Manage electric spares inventory
  • Manage costs and replacement parts effectively
  • Ensure plant cleanliness and safety
  • Trouble-shoot, and problem solve, the day to day issues
  • Advise on new equipment and organise installation as required
  • Safety Compliance with all relevant procedures relating to Hygiene, Pharmaceutical, Quality, Chain of Custody, Environmental and any other Standards that the company may wish to introduce plus Health & Safety regulations

  • Experience in Electrical Engineering
  • Experience in basic Electronic Engineering
  • Systematic Trouble-shooting skills
  • Ability to work well in a Team Environment
  • High level of safe working practices awareness
  • Excellent Communication skills
  • IT skills eg Microsoft Office, Outlook.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience in an Engineering / technician role in an FMCG Environment
  • Experience in Plumbing and Gas Engineering
  • Experience in Aircon and Heating Engineering
