About the Role
As a Business Analyst within the Product Team, you will act as a critical conduit between business stakeholders (internal and external), SMEs, and our engineering & product delivery functions. Your work will underpin the design, specification, and delivery of new product capabilities - from requirements elicitation through to functional specification, stakeholder alignment, and support for development and testing. This is a growth-oriented role for a candidate with around 1–2 years’ experience, eager to deepen their understanding of financial services tech and contribute meaningfully to a fast-growing global fintech.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with SMEs, commercial leads, operations, compliance and other stakeholders to gather detailed business requirements (functional & non-functional).
- Document requirements clearly: business requirements documents (BRDs), user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows / models, data flows or functional specs.
- Translate business needs into actionable specifications for the engineering and product teams. This includes liaising between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Assist in shaping product decisions and prioritisation by helping define scope, clarifying constraints, highlighting dependencies, and assessing trade-offs.
- Support the product lifecycle: from requirements gathering, through design and QA/acceptance, to rollout and post-launch validation. This may include helping coordinate testing / user acceptance testing, tracking issues/defects, and ensuring delivered functionality meets requirements.
- Help maintain and evolve internal documentation of business processes, system workflows, integration points, and product behaviour.
- Work collaboratively across cross‑functional teams including Product Owners, Engineering, Compliance, Operations, and (where relevant) Banking Partners or external vendors - facilitating smooth communication and shared understanding.
- Proactively identify potential inefficiencies, ambiguities or gaps in requirements, and propose refined or improved process / product solutions.
Candidate Profile
- Communicates clearly and confidently across technical and non‑technical audiences, including senior stakeholders.
- Detail‑oriented with strong analytical ability and a structured approach to gathering and validating requirements.
- Proactive, self‑motivated and comfortable working in fast‑paced, ambiguous environments.
- Thrives in agile or hybrid product development settings and collaborates effectively with Product Owners and Engineers.
- Builds strong relationships across business, operations, compliance, product and technical functions.
- Demonstrates curiosity, growth mindset and a long‑term interest in developing a career in product/fintech.
- Brings strong problem‑solving skills and a collaborative, team‑oriented mindset.
Preferred Background
- Bachelor’s degree (2:1 or above) or equivalent experience in a relevant field (Business, Economics, Finance, Information Systems etc.).
- 1+ year of experience in business analysis, consulting or similar roles (e.g., systems analyst, consulting analyst, junior BA).
- Experience within financial services, fintech or other regulated/structured environments is preferred.
- Familiarity with agile frameworks and tools such as Jira, Confluence or similar.
- Exposure to requirement gathering, process mapping and stakeholder engagement.
- Nice to have: Basic understanding of financial products, payments, multi‑currency accounts or fintech business flows.
What success looks like
- Clear, concise and complete documentation of business requirements that enable efficient and accurate delivery by engineering teams.
- Smooth hand‑off between business stakeholders and product/engineering - resulting in minimal rework or ambiguity after development begins.
- Enhanced collaboration across teams and effective stakeholder engagement.
- Proactive identification and mitigation of issues early in the lifecycle (requirements ambiguity, scope drift, conflicts).
- Continuous learning and growth: increasing contribution to more complex/strategic product work.
