Travel

Requirement to travel to retail stores and other VF offices approximately once per month. Overnight stays may be necessary during specific projects.

The Role

The HR Generalist supports our UK Distribution Centre and UK Retail Stores in executing HR processes and policies.

You will act as the primary HR contact for employees and leaders, give advice on HR themes, and execute action plans following legislation, procedures and VF strategy.

  • Support the Retail and Distribution Centre in implementing initiatives in line with the People Strategy by fostering an inclusive culture and empowering leaders to make informed decisions about their teams.
  • Ensure optimal support and guidance around sickness/absence reporting and performance management tools and processes.
  • Act as a subject‑matter expert in Employment Relations, coaching line managers through complex cases and highlighting key patterns, areas of concern and improvement.
  • Support redundancy processes, restructures, small‑scale TUPE, variation of contracts and settlement agreements – experience in leading these is essential.
  • Lead and deliver in‑house training and people surgeries and coordinate external training.
  • Provide ad‑hoc project support such as apprenticeships, culture surveys, compensation cycles and total rewards.
  • Partner with HRBP and site leaders to execute data‑driven insights around employee wellbeing.
  • Work closely with the HR Operations Team to support the company’s HR Operating Model.
  • Interpret and analyse People KPI data to generate ideas.
  • Present People updates during quarterly town halls.

Skills for Success

  • Education: CIPD Level 5 Qualified is desired but not essential.
  • Previous experience in an HR advisory or generalist capacity (essential). Ability to build strong relationships and perform solid stakeholder management.
  • Sector experience in Retail/Supply Chain is an advantage but not essential.
  • Fast learner, comfortable with systems (AI, MS Office, Workday).
  • Strong communication and Employee Relations skills, compliant with UK employment law.
  • Comfortable presenting to all levels via Zoom/Teams and in person.
  • Work independently; proactive and creative with autonomy.
  • Travel to Northern UK and Scotland is required. Travel to stores is approximately one day per month; overnight stays may be required for distant locations.
