VEV LV is VEV's new internal delivery arm focused exclusively on Low Voltage (LV) electrical works - including installation, testing and support. Formed to reduce third party reliance and recover margin lost to subcontracting, VEV LV is a core enabler in our wider strategy to deliver end to end energy infrastructure.
Position Overview: We are looking for a Senior Electrician to join the foundational team delivering VEV's in house LV capability. This is a hands-on, senior-level field role for an electrician with a strong technical foundation, leadership qualities, and a desire to support decarbonisation at scale. You'll take responsibility for executing and overseeing critical installation and testing works - while playing a pivotal role in shaping the quality, safety, and culture of VEV LV.
Core Responsibilities:
- Lead and deliver low voltage electrical installations across EV infrastructure, battery systems, and other sustainable projects
- Ensure all work is compliant with BS7671 wiring regulations, VEV policies, and NICEIC certification standards
- Execute inspections, testing, and commissioning for electrical systems with detailed documentation
- Interpret schematics and drawings, and work alongside engineers to align delivery with design and programme
- Provide on-site leadership, mentoring junior electricians and embedding a culture of quality and safety
- Support internal performance tracking, testing accuracy, and governance activities
- Work collaboratively across the wider VEV team to support end to end project delivery
- Actively participate in the development of VEV LV as a saleable high-performance unit
The Successful Candidate Will:
- Be NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation certified
- Be 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) certified
- Be 2391 or 2394/2395 Testing and Inspection certified
- Have ECS/JIB Gold Card
- Have a minimum of 5+ years of LV installation experience including testing responsibilities
- Have a strong commitment to safety, technical quality, and low carbon impact
- Hold a full UK driving licence
