We are seeking an experienced Category Manager (Civil/Electrical Subcontracted Services) to join our dynamic team at VEV. In this role, you will play a pivotal role delivering our decarbonisation projects. Your primary objective will be contributing to the management transactional and strategic management of the assigned categories ensuring projects are delivered on time, with quality and within the cost targets.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Provide hands on support with all procurement activities across the team. From defining processes and procedures and their implementation to defining strategic plans and building a robust supply chain.
  • Lead the procurement activities of selected categories related to Civil works, Electrical Subcontractors, and other services related work related to decarbonization projects.
  • Lead the implementation of supplier agreements and ongoing supplier relationship management and development.
  • Enable successful bids with the provision of the most competitive supply chain selection and costing.
  • Contribute to the development of the Procurement team and wider organization. Lead cost analysis, solutions selection and provide strong support across the organization to deliver our projects.
  • Maintain optimal sourcing strategies, maximise cost saving across a diverse supplier base and ensure the projects are supported from bid stage to the end of contract lifecycle.
  • This is a wide role where the key to be successful will be the ability to get involved at different levels within the supply chain.

Experience and Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor's degree in a Technical field is a plus.
  • Proven procurement experience ideally in fast growth environments and an ability to adapt fast to new environments/technologies.
  • Good understanding of Civil works, Electrical works procurement will be advantageous.
  • Strong experience defining processes and procedures across procurement, supply chain and operations.
  • Accomplished in Contracts Implementation. Highly familiar with contractual law and the drafting of multiple types of agreements.
  • Experience and understanding Solar, BESS, EV Charging projects is desirable.
  • A demonstrable track record on sourcing from international markets, streamlining costs and supply chain management.
  • Strong project management experience dealing with Equipment/Vehicles manufacturers and technical services sub-contractors. Ability to navigate challenging projects and ensure their timely delivery.
  • A professionally curious individual who possesses a good eye for detail and the required creativity to find solutions in an efficient and effective way.
  • Hands-on approach. Ability to move fast in a start-up like environment and deliver high quality output always.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
