Time to investigate properly, space to discuss treatment with clients and support to develop your clinical interests: this role offers a considered approach to veterinary practice, alongside a four-day working week and no out-of-hours duties.
An established veterinary practice in Hampshire is looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join its welcoming team of five vets, supported by a loyal nursing and client care team. Most days, you’ll work alongside one or two other vets on site, giving you a balance of clinical independence and readily available support.
Time to practise thoroughly
With 30-minute consultations as standard, you’ll have time for thorough examinations, investigations and meaningful client discussions. An AI-powered scribe supports clinical record keeping and client communications, helping reduce the administrative burden.
The diary is structured around dedicated consulting blocks, protected breaks and surgical procedures typically scheduled in the mornings. Time is also built in for case notes, follow-up calls and detailed patient workups, so these important tasks are treated as part of your working day.
You’ll manage consultations, investigate cases, undertake surgery within your competence and interests, and support continuity of care through clear communication and follow-up. The practice places strong emphasis on clinical standards, with highly engaged clients who are generally keen to pursue thorough diagnostics when clinically appropriate.
Facilities that support your decisions
The spacious, modern, custom-built facility brings a broad range of services together under one roof. You’ll have access to ultrasound, digital radiography, a dedicated dental suite and two large operating theatres, alongside a separate preparation area, isolation facilities and separate kennels. On-site physiotherapy and hydrotherapy services support ongoing patient care, and parking is available on site.
Develop your own clinical interests
You’ll be joining colleagues with additional clinical interests, including a medicine certificate holder and a vet currently pursuing a behavioural certificate. There is support to pursue your own interests, further qualifications and advanced practitioner development.
Alongside a minimum £1,500 CPD allowance, you’ll have free access to 1,000 hours of CPD content and an on-demand specialist advice service to support clinical decision-making.
This role would suit a vet who values thorough case management, thoughtful client communication and collaborative working. You don’t need to be able to do everything from day one: the emphasis is on giving you the time, tools and support to develop your practice while maintaining space for life outside work.
Working pattern and benefits
This is a full-time position of 40 hours per week across four days, with no out-of-hours work. The rota includes one in three Saturday mornings, alternating between 8.30am–11am and 8.30am–1pm.
- Health cash plan that can be extended to immediate family
- Holiday buying and selling schemes
- Enhanced pension
- Alongside a minimum £1,500 CPD allowance
- You’ll have free access to 1,000 hours of CPD content
- An on-demand specialist advice service to support clinical decision-making
