Vetsure is a fast-growing SME providing a range of services to independent vets across the UK including pet insurance, buying group services and facilities management services to enable vets to collect monthly direct debits for pet health plans. The company is experiencing exceptional growth and now turns over in excess of £50m. Key facts about the role

  • Contract Type: Full time.
  • Hours: 37.5 hours per week.
  • Location: Field based; applicant must reside within the defined territory.
  • Salary: £45,000 – £55,000 per annum plus car allowance and bonus.
  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays. Following 3 years continuous service, annual leave will increase by 1 additional day per completed year of service up to a maximum of 28 days.
  • 3% pension contribution when you contribute 5%.
  • An Employee Assistance Programme.
  • Once you pass your probation: 2 days additional annual leave to settle a new cat or dog into your home; 1 day additional annual leave to move to a new home.

  • Optional enrolment onto our Vitality Healthcare scheme with a £30.00 contribution each month made by the company towards your premium.

Reports to: Regional Sales Manager / National Sales Manager.

Job Description Main Duties

  • To identify suitable target Veterinary Groups within the defined territory.
  • To effectively manage accounts to grow the Vetsure business across three key product areas: Vetsure pet insurance, Pet Health Plans and the Buysure buying group and other non-specified areas as the company grows.
  • To support the launch plans for Vetsure and associated products within veterinary groups including but not limited to Vetsure pet insurance, Pet Health Plans and Lupa practice management software.
  • To partner with member practices in joint business planning, adherence to dedicated products and business growth.
  • To understand the Company objectives and work with Regional and National Sales Managers and Business Development Manager for implementation.
  • To provide expert guidance to new and existing customers regarding their insurance and business needs.
  • Use our customer relationship management system (CRM).
  • To support training and day-to-day operational activities to facilitate FCA compliance and Consumer Duty principles and guidelines and adhere to them.
  • To be aware of potential risks and report as necessary to the Head of Business Development, National Sales Manager and/or Managing Director.
  • To work collaboratively with external stakeholders including but not limited to veterinary wholesaler representatives, supplier representatives and technology suppliers to mutually develop accounts and cross share leads where applicable.
  • To become familiar with our purpose and values, making them core to all activities/behaviours and with all interactions with colleagues, our partners and customers.
  • To represent the company at key industry vet shows such as London Vet show alongside smaller regional and careers events.

Person Specification Skills and competencies

  • Strong interpersonal skills – ability to build successful, mutually beneficial business relationships.
  • Strong communication skills using a variety of media including email, written, oral and presentation skills.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Solid understanding of computer software package including: MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Power BI and CRM systems.
  • Planning, organisational and measuring skills.
  • Problem solving.

Qualifications and experience

  • Animal health qualification an advantage.
  • A-Level standard of education.
  • 3 – 5 years minimum in sales in the animal health sector.
  • Solid track record in sales.
  • Experience of pet insurance an advantage.
