Full Time Veterinary Nurse – Wolverhampton

Up to Β£35,000 DOE plus benefits

Vets Now is the UK’s leading provider of emergency pet care, serving over 1700 veterinary practices through 60 plus dedicated out-of-hours clinics and two 24/7 pet emergency hospitals. Our Wolverhampton clinic provides emergency care for pets at night, weekends, 24 hours on Sundays and bank holidays. They are there at the time people and pets need them most.

Understanding your key role

Our nursing team are at the core of clinical treatment including triage, surgery, anaesthesia, and in-patient care. Key responsibilities will include:

  • First Aid – give appropriate advice over the phone and perform in clinic.
  • Critical Care – management and monitoring of major body systems, monitoring of in-patient trends and identifying changes quickly, physiotherapy, pain assessment, wound and dressing care.
  • Diagnostics – confident to perform basic diagnostic procedures in a sole charge capacity.

Key requirements

  • RCVS registered for a minimum of six months.
  • Motivated to maintain high clinic standards.
  • Passionate about caring for our clients and their pets.
  • Experience with an ECC caseload is advantageous.

Working pattern

A template rota is below, although some flexibility will be required in terms of shifts:

Week 1: Wednesday and Thursday from 18:00 to 09:00, Saturday from 12:00 to 18:30 and Sunday from 08:30 to 18:30 or 09:00 to 19:00

Week 2: Saturday and Sunday from 18:00 to 09:00

Week 3: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 18:00 to 09:00

Week 4: Tuesday and Wednesday from 18:00 to 09:00

Plus, a fair share of bank holidays.
