The Vets Now Hospital in Greater Manchester provides both a first‑class referral service and an out‑of‑hours emergency service for veterinary practices in and around Manchester.

Understanding your key role

The Surgical RVN role will involve assisting with surgical procedures, administering nursing care to animals, and promoting client communications therefore it’s essential that you are at the top of your game. On shift, you will see a variety of cases spanning orthopaedics, soft tissue, and emergency so it presents an ideal opportunity to work with diplomat surgeons in these specialities. You will use all your skills in anaesthesia, recovery and surgical nursing to be successful in this role.

Key requirements

  • RCVS registered for a minimum of six months.
  • Motivated to maintain high clinic standards.
  • Passionate about caring for our clients and their pets.
  • Experience with an ECC caseload is advantageous.

Working pattern

  • 4 x 10‑hour shifts Monday to Friday between 07:00 to 19:00
  • 1:5 weekends working 10‑hour shifts Saturday and Sunday between 07:00 to 19:00
  • Plus, a fair share of bank holidays.
