Your responsibilities will include triaging and stabilising critically ill patients, as well as providing exceptional inpatient care in the ICU for a diverse range of cases, including referrals from our Internal Medicine and Surgery services. This role offers the chance to collaborate with Specialists and Advanced Practitioners in a dynamic, multi‑disciplinary setting. We are dedicated to developing our nurses to the highest standards and supporting ongoing professional development.
Understanding your key role
Our nursing team are at the core of clinical treatment including triage, surgery, anaesthesia, and in‑patient care. Key responsibilities will include:
- First Aid – give appropriate advice over the phone and perform in clinic.
- Critical Care – management and monitoring of major body systems, monitoring of in‑patient trends and identifying changes quickly, physiotherapy, pain assessment, wound and dressing care.
- Diagnostics – confident to perform basic diagnostic procedures in a sole charge capacity.
Key requirements
- RCVS registered for a minimum of six months.
- Motivated to maintain high clinic standards.
- Passionate about caring for our clients and their pets.
- Experience with an ECC caseload is advantageous.
Working pattern
4 day working week Monday to Friday working 10‑hour shifts. 1:5 weekends working 10‑hour shifts. Shifts are rotational through the following times: 06:00 to 16:00, 08:00 to 18:00 and 10:00 to 20:00 Plus, a fair share of bank holidays.
