Our Barton‑Le‑Clay clinic has been providing local emergency care since 2010 and has the RCVS Small Animal Emergency Service Clinic accreditation, reflecting the work the practice does treating emergency and critical care cases without appointment.
Understanding your key role
Our nursing team are at the core of clinical treatment including triage, surgery, anaesthesia, and in‑patient care. Key responsibilities will include:
- First Aid – give appropriate advice over the phone and perform in clinic.
- Critical Care – management and monitoring of major body systems, monitoring of in‑patient trends and identifying changes quickly, physiotherapy, pain assessment, wound and dressing care.
- Diagnostics – confident to perform basic diagnostic procedures in a sole charge capacity.
Key requirements
- RCVS registered for a minimum of six months.
- Motivated to maintain high clinic standards.
- Passionate about caring for our clients and their pets.
- Experience with an ECC caseload is advantageous.
Working pattern
Weekly schedule: Week 1 – Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 19:00‑00:00; Week 2 – Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 19:00‑00:00; Week 3 & 4 – Off. Includes a fair share of bank holidays.
