Job Title: Residential Childcare Worker

Location: Welshpool, Powys, SY21

Salary: £26,290- £29,241 per annum + Enhanced overtime rate!

Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated Residential Childcare Worker to join our specialist therapeutic residential care team located in Welshpool, Powys. This role offers the opportunity to work within a unique, values-driven service that makes a meaningful difference in the lives of young people. Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing ongoing care and support to young males aged 11-18 within a structured therapeutic community setting.
  • Building positive relationships, modelling appropriate behaviour, and offering guidance and mentorship.
  • Managing boundaries and safeguarding, ensuring a safe environment with low incident levels through open communication.
  • Engaging in a variety of activities such as helping with homework, cooking, gardening, gaming, and outdoor pursuits to promote well-being and development.
  • Collaborating with the wider team, including therapists and education staff, to deliver integrated care and support.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Good basic English and IT communication skills.
  • Over 21 years of age (mandatory).
  • A full UK driving licence (essential).
  • A resilient, creative, and caring approach with a sense of humour and broad interests.
  • Willingness to learn and develop within a specialist practice setting.
  • Previous experience in residential childcare is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
