As the Registered Manager, you'll oversee all aspects of our Clearbury residential home, ensuring the highest standards of care for adults who are profoundly deaf. These individuals rely on BSL, AAC devices, and visual imagery for communication, and your leadership will be crucial in fostering a supportive and enriching environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop & Implement Care Plans: Create comprehensive, tailored care plans addressing all needs (care, education, social, emotional, cultural, therapeutic, and health).
- Team Leadership & Development: Recruit, induct, and retain a strong, stable team, ensuring familiar faces and continuous development for staff.
- Promote Consultation: Establish systems that empower adults to provide input on the care they receive.
- Maintain High Standards: Ensure all care meets CQC fundamental standards and the Home's Statement of Purpose.
- Safeguarding & Complaints: Take full responsibility for addressing safeguarding concerns and complaints.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work in partnership with families and other professionals to promote welfare.
- Commercial Management: Effectively manage the home within budget expectations.
What We're Looking For
- Essential BSL Skills: Proficiency in British Sign Language is crucial for effective communication within the home.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years' experience in residential care for children, young people, and adults. At least 1 year in a supervisory role within the last 5 years.
- Qualifications: Essential: Level 3 in Children's or Adults Residential Care. Preferred: Level 5 in Leadership and Management for Residential settings (or commitment to enroll within 6 months of starting).
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of CQC, adult legislation, and regulatory requirements.
- Skills: Excellent planning, organizing, budget control, resource allocation, and team leadership abilities.
- Communication: Confident and effective spoken and written communication.
- Understanding Trauma: Knowledge of managing challenging behaviour and the needs of individuals with behavioural, emotional, and social difficulties.
- Driving License: Full UK driving license is required.
- Passion: A genuine passion for making a significant difference in the lives of the adults you support.
