We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Children’s Residential Team Leader to join a leading specialist provider at Herne Bay in Kent. This is a vital leadership role within a children’s residential service, where you will support young people daily and lead a team of Residential Support Workers. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering high-quality care and fostering a safe, nurturing environment for children and young people with diverse needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead shifts and act as a positive role model for Residential Support Workers
- Support young people with daily routines, emotional wellbeing, and behaviour management
- Maintain a safe, structured environment aligned with care plans and risk assessments
- Complete accurate records, including daily logs, incident reports, and handovers
- Support safeguarding practices and adhere to policies and procedures
- Collaborate with managers, schools, families, and external professionals
- Contribute to staff coaching, shift planning, and onboarding of new team members
Requirements
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
- Experience working in a children’s residential setting
- Ability to work a variable shift pattern, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins
- Strong communication skills, resilience, and a consistent approach to boundaries
Desirable
- Full UK driving licence (strongly favourable)
