Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Children's Home Registered Manager to lead and manage a children's residential home in Taunton, Somerset. This pivotal role involves ensuring the home operates in compliance with legislative and regulatory standards, delivering high-quality care, and supporting young people to achieve positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading the day-to-day operation of the children's home, ensuring compliance with Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and other relevant legislation.
- Managing and developing the home team to deliver a holistic, therapeutic approach to care.
- Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all young people in the home, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Building strong relationships with external agencies such as social services, health providers, and education teams to support young people's needs.
- Overseeing the development and implementation of individual care and support plans, including risk assessments and behaviour management strategies.
- Ensuring accurate and timely recording of incidents, safeguarding concerns, and daily activities using the clients reporting system.
- Leading staff recruitment, supervision, and performance management to maintain high standards of care.
- Promoting participation and ensuring young people's voices are heard and respected in all aspects of their care.
Requirements & Qualifications
- NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management or equivalent.
- Proven experience managing a children's residential home or similar setting.
- Strong knowledge of Children's Homes Regulations 2015, safeguarding, and child protection procedures.
- Mandatory compliance with Enhanced DBS Check and Full UK Driving Licence.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
