We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Registered Children’s Residential Home Manager to lead a children’s residential care service in Shrewsbury. The successful candidate will oversee the day-to-day operations of a specialised EBD home, supporting children and young people with complex needs. The Registered Children’s Residential Home Manager will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of outstanding, child‑centred care, fostering a safe, inclusive, and nurturing home environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead with vision, compassion, and integrity to ensure children receive high-quality care tailored to their individual needs.
  • Act as the voice and advocate for children and your team, promoting safety, respect, and aspirations.
  • Oversee safeguarding, care planning, compliance, and team development to maintain high standards of service.
  • Mentor and develop staff through coaching, supervision, and training, including QCF Level 3 facilitation.
  • Manage service development, budgets, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance home performance.
  • Build a warm, inclusive, and resilient home culture where young people feel valued and inspired.
  • Ensure all operational aspects are compliant with legislation, including The Children Act 1989 and children’s home regulations.
  • Carry out on‑call duties and work flexibly to meet the needs of the service.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience working within a similar environment at a senior level.
  • Level 3 or 4 qualification in Children and Young People’s workforce.
  • Working towards or achieved Level 5 Diploma in leadership for Health and Social Care services (Children and Young People management).
  • Strong knowledge of legislation and safeguarding procedures.
  • Experience of budget and financial management.
  • Full driving licence is essential.
  • Ability to work flexibly and undertake on‑call duties.
