Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and inspiring SEN Class Teacher to join our supportive team at a leading special school in the Wirral.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to work within a nurturing environment, delivering personalised education to pupils with severe and complex learning difficulties and autistic spectrum disorders. The successful candidate will play a vital role in fostering pupils’ communication, independence, and social skills, contributing to their overall development and well-being.

Key Responsibilities

  • Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual pupil needs.
  • Working closely with Teaching Assistants, families, and multidisciplinary professionals to support pupil progress.
  • Developing communication, social, and independence skills through personalised learning programmes.
  • Monitoring and recording pupil progress, adjusting teaching strategies accordingly.
  • Promoting a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that values every pupil’s achievements.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • A recognised teaching qualification (e.g., QTS).
  • Experience working with pupils with SEND, preferably in a special or inclusive setting.
  • A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Patience, resilience, and a compassionate approach to supporting pupils with diverse needs.
