Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated Residential Children & Young People's Worker to join our new Short Breaks Service in Rothley, Leicestershire. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work within a supportive environment, helping children and young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and complex needs to develop confidence, independence, and social skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Building trust and nurturing relationships to promote the independence and wellbeing of service users.
- Working collaboratively with parents, carers, and professionals to support each child's individual needs.
- Contributing to the upkeep of the home, including cooking, cleaning, and maintaining a safe environment.
- Accurately documenting information and ensuring records are kept up to date.
- Adhering to safeguarding policies and procedures to protect vulnerable children and young people.
- Promoting a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment at all times.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or willingness to achieve this within the required timeframe.
- Motivation to make a positive difference in young people's lives, creating a safe space and building resilience.
- A good understanding of safeguarding and protection of vulnerable children and young people.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including sleep-ins, weekends, and bank holidays.
- Experience working or volunteering with children and young people with additional needs is desirable but not essential; a positive attitude and willingness to learn are key.
