Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Deputy Manager to join our children’s residential service in Rothley, Leicestershire. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children and young people with complex needs, within a supportive and forward-thinking team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- As a Deputy Manager based in Rothley, Leicestershire, your daily duties will include:
- Building trusting, nurturing relationships that promote independence, wellbeing, and resilience among children and young people.
- Collaborating with families, carers, and professionals to deliver holistic support tailored to individual needs.
- Leading shifts and supervising staff to ensure high standards of care and safeguarding.
- Supporting the Registered Manager with audits, operational duties, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.
- Contributing to the daily running of the home, including activities such as cooking, cleaning, and record-keeping.
- Upholding safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure a safe environment for all service users.
- Promoting an inclusive, welcoming environment that encourages social and emotional development.
Requirements & Qualifications
- To be successful as a Deputy Manager, you will need:
- A Level 3 qualification relevant to Residential Childcare.
- A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care and Children & Young People’s Services, or a willingness to work towards it.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a children’s residential setting, with at least 1 year of supervisory and shift-leading experience.
- Strong knowledge of OFSTED Regulations and Quality Standards, with the ability to support the home in achieving an “Outstanding” rating.
- Experience in safeguarding, recording, and reporting to protect children and young people.
