Our client, a leading healthcare provider, is seeking a dedicated Assistant Manager to oversee the Extra Care team at Miners Court in Pool, Cornwall. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead a team in delivering high-quality, person-centred care within a supportive and compliant environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing the delivery of the 24-hour Care and Support service, ensuring compliance with CQC standards and promoting independence among residents.
  • Deputising for the registered and deputy manager in their absence, maintaining service quality and safety standards.
  • Leading and supporting a team of care staff through supervision, training, and performance management.
  • Conducting assessments, care planning, and reviews in collaboration with residents and external agencies.
  • Overseeing medication management, including monthly audits and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Ensuring all organisational policies, procedures, and legislative requirements are met.
  • Supporting safeguarding initiatives and responding to any concerns promptly.
  • Participating in rota management, on-call duties, and quality assurance processes.
  • Promoting social activities and community engagement within the scheme.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • A diploma in Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification, with a view to undertaking a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care.
  • Experience managing or supervising teams within the Care and Support Sector.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and experience in completing needs assessments and care plans.
  • A full UK driving licence and a satisfactory enhanced DBS check.
  • Proficiency in IT systems, including electronic care planning and medication management software.
