Pay: £13.68 - £28.40 (inclusive of holiday pay)

Location: Porthcawl

Time: 08:00-20:30 or 08:00-22:00. Shift options: Sleep shift 08:00-20:30, Waking night 20:30-08:00, or 08:00-23:00.

Responsibilities
  • Support the children and young people in all day-to-day activities and interests
  • Be restraint trained or be willing to undergo the 3 day course
  • Promote the young persons independence and wellbeing
  • Attend weekend away, holidays and trips with the children
  • Attend weekend and evening activities to support the children and their interests (e.g., climbing, baking cakes, weekend away in Butlins)
  • Protect the children and young people from any risks to their health and welfare
  • Provide emotional and practical support to the young people within your home
  • Ensure the safety of young people by maintaining up-to-date knowledge of care plans and guidelines
  • Support, overcome and learn to minimise incidents when behaviour can be challenging
Qualifications
  • Desire to create positive outcomes for vulnerable children and young people
  • Empathetic, caring and resilient nature
  • At least 6 months experience working with children or within a similar social care setting
  • TMVA – Restraint Training Certificate
  • Valid UK Driving Licence
  • Hold a current Enhanced DBS on the updated service or willing to obtain one
  • The right to work in the UK
