Job Description

We are seeking to appoint a compassionate, organised, and dedicated Teaching Assistant Level 4 to join a caring Secondary School in Pontypool, Torfaen. This key role involves supporting pupils to achieve their full potential academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually within an inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting pupils’ learning and development through tailored educational activities
  • Assisting teachers in delivering engaging lessons and managing classroom behaviour
  • Building positive relationships with pupils, parents, and staff to foster a supportive environment
  • Using IT and educational software confidently to enhance learning experiences
  • Contributing to the safeguarding and wellbeing of pupils in line with school policies

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Level 4 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning, Education, Childcare, or equivalent
  • GCSE/NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in English and Mathematics
  • Experience working in an educational or childcare setting
  • Strong IT skills and confidence in using digital tools and software
  • A calm, patient, and resilient approach with excellent communication skills
  • An understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality protocols
  • Welsh language skills are desirable, and support for pupils through Welsh is encouraged
