Our client, a leading specialist provider of trauma-informed support services, is seeking a dedicated Support Services Coordinator to join their team in Pontypool. This full-time, permanent role offers a rewarding opportunity to help create safe, compassionate environments for those in need.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in managing the delivery of trauma-informed support to adults and children in refuge settings, emphasising empathy, respect, and safety.
  • Contribute to a refuge environment grounded in compassion, equity, and integrity, ensuring all individuals feel heard, safe, and supported.
  • Manage safeguarding practices in compliance with policies and legislation, including handling adult and child referrals with a trauma-informed approach.
  • Provide line management, training, supervision, and development for Team Leaders and Support Workers within an inclusive framework.
  • Support risk management initiatives by assessing and positively managing risk, supporting team members in complex and emergency situations.
  • Oversee delegated budget management tasks, including procurement, in collaboration with the finance department.
  • Represent the organisation in multi-agency meetings such as MARAC and support case management, particularly in complex or crisis situations.
  • Lead internal team meetings, promote effective communication, and foster service development and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure data compliance and conduct regular audits, providing improvement plans where necessary.
  • Contribute to external reporting obligations, including funding reports and national standards, supporting transparency and accountability.
  • Promote a voice for adults and children in service design and sector engagement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure accessible, clear referral pathways and a whole-team approach to support.
  • Uphold the organisation’s mission, vision, and core values by demonstrating trauma-informed practice, compassion, integrity, and equity.
  • Participate in external events, training, and organisational activities, representing the charity professionally and safeguarding its reputation.
  • Support the organisation’s environmental sustainability initiatives through participation in carbon-reducing campaigns.
  • Take on additional duties as needed to support the effective delivery of services and organisational goals.

Requirements:

  • Experience in trauma-informed support services, ideally within domestic and sexual abuse settings.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams, including recruitment, supervision, and development.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding policies, risk assessment, and legislation relevant to vulnerable adults and children.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across multi-agency settings.
  • Ability to manage data and reporting duties accurately and efficiently.
  • Flexible working approach, with availability for occasional evening and weekend work, and adaptable start/finish times.
