Job Description
Vetro are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team in a specialist school in Cheshire. The school provides education for pupils aged 2–19 with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and complex needs, fostering an inclusive environment where every learner can thrive. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and young people with additional needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing high-quality one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with complex needs.
- Supporting pupils with their individual learning and development programmes.
- Working alongside teachers to plan, deliver, and adapt activities to meet diverse needs.
- Supporting pupils with communication, social development, and behaviour management strategies.
- Developing positive relationships to promote independence, confidence, and self-esteem.
- Contributing to the assessment and monitoring of pupil progress.
- Collaborating with families, therapists, and other professionals to ensure holistic support.
- Following safeguarding, health and safety policies to maintain a safe learning environment.
Requirements & Qualifications
- An experienced background in supporting children with additional needs.
- A genuine passion for working with children and young people with complex learning difficulties.
- Patience, resilience, and a caring nature.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues, and families.
