Your day will involve collaborative team briefings, delivering 1:1 therapy, small-group interventions, and working closely with teachers to embed communication strategies within the classroom. You will also play a key role in mentoring less experienced therapists, contributing to training initiatives, and supporting university students on placement. Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducting assessments and delivering tailored speech and language therapy sessions for pupils with diverse needs, including Social, Emotional and Mental Health challenges, Learning Disabilities, and Autism.
  • Working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including creative art therapists, teachers, and teaching assistants, to provide holistic support.
  • Participating in team meetings and contributing to the development of individualised support plans.
  • Maintaining accurate records and completing administrative tasks efficiently, with the flexibility to work from home during school holidays.
  • Supporting the training and supervision of less experienced therapists and university students on placement.
  • Taking a trauma-informed approach to clinical work, ensuring the emotional wellbeing of pupils is prioritised.
Requirements:
  • A recognised Degree in Speech and Language Therapy, with HCPC registration and membership with the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists.
  • Good IT skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
  • A full driving licence, as occasional offsite meetings may be required.
  • Passion for working with children with complex needs and a commitment to professional development.
