We are seeking a dedicated Children’s Home Manager to lead the night‑shift operations within a specialist mental health residential service for young people aged 12–18. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced Deputy Manager looking to step into a management position or an established manager seeking a focused night‑shift leadership role.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the night‑shift operations of the children’s home, ensuring the safety and well‑being of young people with emotional and social difficulties.
- Utilise knowledge of the Mental Health Act and trauma‑informed care to support children effectively.
- Lead, motivate, and develop a team of night staff, fostering professional growth and team cohesion.
- Ensure all activities during the night comply with quality standards, legislation, and safeguarding policies.
- Support the Head of Service with budget management, resource planning, and strategic objectives.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in residential care for children, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role within the last 5 years.
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (essential).
- Strong leadership, planning, and organisational skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.
- Knowledge of trauma‑informed care and managing challenging behaviour.
- Full UK Driving Licence is required.
