An established educational provider is seeking an experienced and dedicated English Teacher to join a secondary school in Merthyr Tydfil. This English Teacher role offers an exciting opportunity to work with Key Stage 3 and 4 learners, including GCSE classes. The position is part-time, with an immediate start, and is expected to continue until the end of the summer term 2026. The ideal English Teacher will be able to hit the ground running and become an integral part of the English department from day one.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead engaging lessons for Key Stage 3 and 4 students, including GCSE classes
  • Prepare classrooms and plan schemes of work where necessary
  • Deliver lessons aligned with the national curriculum

  • Manage behaviour in accordance with school policies

Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of teaching experience (exceptions may apply for NQTs)
  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status or overseas equivalent
  • Registration as a Teacher with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) – assistance available
  • References covering the last two years (no gaps)
  • Current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
  • Right to work in the UK
