Key Responsibilities
- Support children and young people in their daily activities and interests
- Attend weekends away, holidays, and trips with the children
- Support and participate in weekend and evening activities, from climbing to baking or weekends away in holiday parks
- Promote the independence and wellbeing of young people
- Maintain safety and adhere to care plans and guidelines
- Provide emotional and practical support to children and young people
- Assist in managing challenging behaviour and minimise incidents
- Support children in all aspects of their care and development
Requirements
- At least 6 months’ experience working with children or within a social care setting
- Relationship‑building skills and resilience
- Understanding of trauma, homelessness, and domestic abuse impacts
- Crisis response awareness and emotional resilience
- Empathetic, caring, and adaptable nature
- TMVA – Restraint Training Certificate (or willingness to undergo training)
- Valid UK driving licence
- Current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
- Right to work in the UK
