Job Title: Residential Children & Young People’s Worker - Mental Health

Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

Are you passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of children and young people? Our client, a leading children’s charity, is seeking a dedicated Residential Children & Young People’s Worker to join their new mental health residential home in Coalville, Leicestershire.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to support children and young people with complex needs in a nurturing environment, helping them recover and build resilience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Building trust and developing nurturing relationships that promote independence, wellbeing, and strengths.
  • Working in partnership with parents, carers, and professionals to support the young people’s needs.
  • Contributing to the upkeep of the home, including cooking, cleaning, and maintaining a safe environment.
  • Documenting information accurately and ensuring records are kept up to date.
  • Adhering to safeguarding policies and procedures to protect vulnerable children and young people.
  • Promoting a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment at all times.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or willingness to achieve this within the required timeframe.
  • Motivation to create a positive impact on young people's lives, fostering resilience and independence.
  • A good understanding of safeguarding and protection of vulnerable children and young people.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including sleep‑ins, weekends, and bank holidays.
  • Relevant experience working with children and young people is desirable but not essential; a positive attitude and willingness to learn is equally valued.
