Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Residential Support Worker to join our team in Hinckley, Leicestershire. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work within a new Contextual Safeguarding Home, supporting children and young people aged 8-18 facing risks related to exploitation and harm. The position involves working in a dynamic environment focused on safeguarding, resilience-building, and promoting independence.
Key Responsibilities
- Building trust and developing nurturing relationships to promote the wellbeing and independence of young people.
- Working in partnership with parents, carers, and professionals to support positive outcomes.
- Contributing to the upkeep of the home, including cooking, cleaning, and maintaining a safe environment.
- Accurately documenting information and ensuring records are kept up to date.
- Adhering to safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure the safety of all service users.
- Supporting young people to develop social, emotional, and life skills through engaging activities and interventions.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A valid UK driving licence.
- The Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or willingness to achieve this within the required timeframe.
- A genuine motivation to make a positive difference in young people's lives, creating a safe and supportive environment.
- A good understanding of safeguarding and protection of vulnerable children and young people.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including sleep-ins, weekends, and bank holidays.
- Relevant experience working with children and young people is desirable but not essential; a positive attitude and willingness to learn are key.
