We are seeking a dedicated Team Manager – Specialist Residential Care (Autism & Complex Needs) to oversee a residential service supporting autistic young people with complex needs. The successful candidate will lead a team of specialist practitioners, ensuring the highest standards of personalised care, safeguarding, and wellbeing.
The role involves line managing, coaching, and mentoring support staff to deliver exceptional care within a nurturing, autism-friendly environment. The position requires overseeing daily operational tasks, including staff attendance, performance management, and staff development. A key aspect involves implementing autism-specific strategies to promote learning, communication, and well-being for the young people in care.
This position demands experience in health and social care, specifically with individuals on the autism spectrum and those with learning disabilities. Candidates must hold a Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care (or equivalent) and have at least two years of experience working with this client group. Leadership skills, including line management, coaching, or mentoring skills, are highly desirable. A Full UK Driving Licence is preferred for this role due to the service's location.
The working schedule includes early shifts from 7am to 4pm and late shifts from 2pm to 10pm, across a seven-day rota. Flexibility and commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people are essential attributes for success in this role.
