Responsibilities

  • Lead by example and support the management team in running effective shifts
  • Mentoring and supporting newer staff members to deliver high standards of care
  • Encourage young people to participate in activities and develop life skills
  • Maintain a friendly, homely environment that promotes trust and safety
  • Protect children and young people from health and safety risks
  • Support young people to develop independence and self-care skills
  • Ensure a safe environment by adhering to care plans, guidelines, and communication methods

  • Build positive relationships with staff, families, social workers, and external professionals
  • Promote the overall well-being and safeguarding of young residents

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Children’s Residential Support Worker or in a similar Youth/Children care setting
  • Level 3 qualification in Children and Young People (essential)
  • Relevant experience within healthcare or social care services (essential)
  • A full UK manual driver’s licence is required, as transportation will sometimes be necessary
  • Age 21 or over
  • Ability to commute to Hatfield
