We are recruiting a Senior Residential Childcare Team Leader to join a residential children’s home in Ebbw Vale, Blaenau Gwent. This is an in-person leadership role supporting children and young people with ESBD needs, helping to deliver safe, consistent care and positive outcomes within a values-led team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading shifts within a residential children’s home setting in Ebbw Vale, ensuring high standards of care and safeguarding practice.
  • Delivering staff supervisions, mentoring new starters through probation, and supporting performance management and accountability.
  • Maintaining excellent recording and reporting, ensuring compliance with RISCA regulations, National Minimum Standards, and internal procedures.
  • Supporting care planning, risk assessments, placement planning, and preparation for LAC reviews and transitions from care.
  • Deputising for the Registered/Care Home Manager when required, including rota support and on-call cover.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • QCF Level 3 Health & Social Care (Children and Young People) (essential).
  • Training/understanding in Attachment & Trauma and/or therapeutic approaches (essential).
  • 2+ years’ experience in residential childcare, including team leader/senior experience in a children’s home (ESBD preferred).
  • Strong IT skills for documentation, compliance, and reporting (essential).
  • Clean Full UK Driving Licence (essential).
  • Enhanced DBS (DBS Update Service desirable) and registration with Social Care Wales (desirable).
