We are recruiting a Senior Residential Childcare Team Leader to join a residential children’s home in Ebbw Vale, Blaenau Gwent. This is an in-person leadership role supporting children and young people with ESBD needs, helping to deliver safe, consistent care and positive outcomes within a values-led team.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading shifts within a residential children’s home setting in Ebbw Vale, ensuring high standards of care and safeguarding practice.
- Delivering staff supervisions, mentoring new starters through probation, and supporting performance management and accountability.
- Maintaining excellent recording and reporting, ensuring compliance with RISCA regulations, National Minimum Standards, and internal procedures.
- Supporting care planning, risk assessments, placement planning, and preparation for LAC reviews and transitions from care.
- Deputising for the Registered/Care Home Manager when required, including rota support and on-call cover.
Requirements & Qualifications
- QCF Level 3 Health & Social Care (Children and Young People) (essential).
- Training/understanding in Attachment & Trauma and/or therapeutic approaches (essential).
- 2+ years’ experience in residential childcare, including team leader/senior experience in a children’s home (ESBD preferred).
- Strong IT skills for documentation, compliance, and reporting (essential).
- Clean Full UK Driving Licence (essential).
- Enhanced DBS (DBS Update Service desirable) and registration with Social Care Wales (desirable).
