The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and compassionate Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join a leading specialist provider in Ebbw Vale. This role is ideal for an enthusiastic professional committed to supporting pupils’ emotional development and wellbeing. You’ll work closely with children across all age groups, delivering targeted wellbeing interventions and contributing to an inclusive, anti-racist school environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver targeted wellbeing interventions to develop emotional literacy and resilience
  • Support pupils 1:1 and in small groups to promote emotional and social development
  • Track and analyse pupil data (with the ALNCo) to monitor progress and inform support strategies
  • Provide learning support in class and via intervention sessions
  • Help plan sessions and prepare resources for wellbeing/intervention work
  • Provide classroom support or emergency cover when required
  • Promote inclusivity and sensitivity to pupils’ diverse backgrounds
  • Contribute to anti-racism and wider EDI initiatives
  • Communicate effectively with pupils, colleagues, and families
  • Take part in school events and enrichment activities

Requirements

  • ELSA experience desirable (not essential)
  • Strong commitment to supporting emotional and social development
  • Team-focused, flexible, proactive, and caring approach
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Willingness to undertake ongoing training and development
  • Genuine commitment to inclusion, equality, and anti-racist practice
