Salary: £35,000 per annum (Deputy Manager phase) / £50,000 - £57,000 per annum (Registered Manager phase, incl. bonuses)

Deputy Manager (Children's Residential) - Registered Manager Pathway is a structured progression opportunity based in East London, Greater London, designed for an experienced children's residential leader ready to step up. Joining our client, you'll begin as Deputy Manager and work towards becoming the Ofsted Registered Manager within 3-6 months, with leadership support and Skilled Worker visa sponsorship available.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the current Registered Manager with day-to-day operational leadership, including administrative and floor-based management.
  • Sharing on-call responsibilities to help maintain a safe, well-led service 24/7.
  • Supervising, mentoring, and guiding residential support staff to maintain consistent care standards.
  • Supporting Ofsted readiness, including Regulation 44 audits and statutory care plan reviews, to prepare for registration.
  • Progressing into full Registered Manager accountability, including compliance with the Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and driving a Good/Outstanding Ofsted outcome.
  • Overseeing rotas, referrals, occupancy, and budget management to meet performance targets and unlock bonus potential.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 year's experience as a Deputy Manager in an Ofsted-registered children's residential home (16+ supported accommodation only does not qualify).
  • A clear commitment to progressing into the Registered Manager role within 3-6 months.
  • Strong written and spoken English for professional reporting and multi-agency work.
  • Ability to start immediately and willingness to relocate to East London if required.
  • Eligibility for (or need for) Skilled Worker visa sponsorship (supported for the right candidate).

Benefits & Work Environment:

  • Competitive pay with a clear progression route from £35,000 to £50,000-£57,000 within 6 months (subject to assessment).
