Interim Registered Manager – Children’s Home (Ofsted)

Location: Daventry, Northamptonshire (on-site)

Vetro Recruitment is working with a provider in Daventry to recruit an Interim Registered Manager for an Ofsted-registered children’s home. This is a hands‑on leadership role, with full responsibility for safeguarding, regulatory compliance and delivering outstanding outcomes for children.

The role

  • Lead the home day-to-day in line with the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards
  • Ensure the service is inspection-ready at all times (SCCIF)
  • Oversee care planning, risk management and behaviour management practice
  • Provide leadership, supervision and development for the staff team
  • Manage stakeholder relationships (placing authorities, social workers, education/health partners)
  • Complete required statutory reporting and notifications to Ofsted

Pay & contract

  • £400 per day
  • Contract / Interim
  • 40 hours per week
  • 1 vacancy

Essential requirements

  • Eligible to be the Registered Manager (Regulation 28) and able to meet Ofsted “fit person” requirements
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent) (or willingness to start within 6 months and complete within 2 years)
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in children’s residential care (last 5 years), including 1 year in a supervisory/management role
  • Strong safeguarding knowledge and experience (including LADO thresholds and escalation)
  • Enhanced DBS with Children’s Barred List
