Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Deputy Manager to join a leading children’s residential care organisation based in Crediton, Devon. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead and support a team in a nurturing environment, ensuring the safety and well-being of children and young people in our care.

Key Responsibilities
- Leading and managing daily shifts, ensuring high standards of care and safety for children and young people.
- Overseeing medication administration, staff supervision, and induction of new team members.
- Deputising for the Registered Manager in their absence, maintaining smooth operational management.
- Supporting the development of personalised care plans, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and organisational policies.
- Promoting a positive, inclusive environment that fosters the emotional, social, and educational development of children and young people.
- Ensuring all safeguarding procedures are followed and incidents are accurately reported and documented.
- Supervising Senior Care Workers, conducting staff appraisals, and managing rota schedules.
- Participating in team meetings, training, and continuous professional development activities.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Level 3 Diploma for the Children & Young People’s Workforce (or equivalent).
- Minimum of 6 months’ experience working with children in residential care or a related setting.
- Knowledge of legislative requirements and OFSTED regulatory framework.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and support staff.
- Mandatory compliance with Enhanced DBS checks and a Full UK Driving Licence.
