Job Description

Are you passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of children and young people?

Our client is seeking a dedicated Mental Health Residential Children & Young People's Worker to join their team in Coalville, Leicestershire.

Based at a newly established mental health residential home, this role offers the opportunity to support children and young people with complex needs in a nurturing environment that promotes recovery and resilience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Building trust and developing nurturing relationships to promote independence, wellbeing, and strengths.
  • Working collaboratively with parents, carers, and professionals to support young people's needs.
  • Contributing to the upkeep of the home, including cooking, cleaning, and maintaining a safe environment.
  • Accurately documenting information and ensuring records are kept up to date.
  • Adhering to safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure a safe environment at all times.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or willingness to achieve this within the required timeframe.
  • Motivation to create a safe space and build resilience in young people.
  • A good understanding of safeguarding and protection of vulnerable children and young people.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including sleep-ins, weekends, and bank holidays.
  • Relevant experience working with children and young people is desirable but not essential with the right attitude and willingness to learn.
