Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum (including sleep-in shift pay, bonuses, and pension)

Your Role as a Senior Support Worker:

  • Lead, inspire, and support your team while providing exceptional care to young people.
  • Create a safe, nurturing space, promoting therapeutic growth and stability.
  • Assist management in running the home smoothly and developing therapeutic services.
  • Ensure safeguarding and safety of children and staff at all times.
  • Build strong, empathetic relationships with young people, their families, and professionals.
  • Act as a positive role model and leader within the team.
  • Support team development and address vicarious trauma.
  • Engage in fun, community-based activities to promote social inclusion.
  • Assist with practical tasks such as cooking, cleaning, and personal care.

Skills and Qualifications Needed:

  • Minimum of 1 year’s experience in Children’s Residential Social Care or similar environment.
  • Strong understanding of Trauma-Informed Care and therapeutic approaches.
  • Effective leadership, communication, and nurturing skills.
  • Level 3 NVQ in Residential Childcare or willingness to attain.
  • Valid UK Driving Licence.
  • Knowledge of Children’s Home Regulations 2015 and relevant legislation.
  • Clear DBS check and positive references.
  • Ability to handle challenging situations with empathy and appropriate boundaries.
