A leading specialist provider is seeking experienced and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join a special school in Caerphilly. This role offers an excellent opportunity to support learners with diverse needs, including ASD, PDA, PMLD, Global Delay Disorder, and challenging behaviour. Key Responsibilities
- Support and supervise learners with ASD, PDA, PMLD, Global Delay Disorder, or challenging behaviour
- Assist learners at the start and end of the school day
- Help staff prepare classrooms for lessons
- Work with learners in small groups or on a 1:1 basis
- Support the class teacher in delivering lessons
- Assist learners during break times and with lunch
- Engage learners in classroom and out-of-classroom activities
- Follow the school's behaviour management policies
Requirements
- At least 3 months of experience working with children in schools, nurseries, or childcare settings; SEN experience is beneficial
- Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC); support available to assist with registration
- Current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
- Right to work in the UK
