A leading specialist provider of social care services is seeking dedicated Children's Support Workers for their residential services in Bridgewater. This role offers an excellent opportunity to support vulnerable children and young people, helping them achieve the best possible start in life. As a Children's Support Worker in Bridgewater, you will work closely with children in a caring and supportive environment, providing practical and emotional support to promote their independence and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
- Support children and young people in their daily activities and interests
- Attend weekends away, holidays, and trips to enrich their experiences
- Support children during weekend and evening activities, from climbing to baking or trips to Butlins
- Promote the safety, health, and welfare of children in your care
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of care plans and guidelines
- Assist in managing challenging behaviour and minimise incidents
- Support children in developing independence and life skills
- Provide emotional support and practical assistance to young people in your care
Requirements
- A genuine desire to create positive outcomes for vulnerable children and young people
- Empathetic, caring, and resilient nature
- At least 6 months’ experience working with children or within a social care setting
- Restraint training (TMVA) or willingness to undertake a 3-day restraint course
- Valid UK Driving Licence
- Current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
- Right to work in the UK
