This is an excellent opportunity to make a real difference in children's lives (12 weeks temporary work which can lead to a permanent position after 12 weeks).
The School is an independent 39-week specialist day provision for boys and girls, aged between 5 and 11 with social, emotional and mental health difficulties. We also work with a range of education settings across Wirral.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting and supervising educational games, sports, and craft activities
- Assisting children with reading and literacy tasks
- Preparing classrooms for lessons and activities
- Working with pupils in small groups or on a 1:1 basis, including children with additional needs
- Creating displays of children's work
- Supporting teachers in managing classroom behaviour
- Helping children on school trips and during group activities
- Listening to children read, telling stories, and providing extra support as needed
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 months' experience working with children in schools, nurseries, or similar settings
- References covering the last two years (no gaps)
- Current DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
- Right to work in the UK
