You will be working 2:1 with other staff members and children in their homes.

What you’ll be doing as a Children's Worker
- Support the children and young people in all day‑to‑day activities and interests
- Be restraint trained, or be willing to undergo the 3‑day course
- Promote the young person’s independence and wellbeing
- Attend weekends away, holidays and trips with the children
- Attend weekend and evening activities to support the children in their interests (e.g., climbing, baking cakes, weekend stays at Butlins)
- Protect the children and young people from any risks to their health and welfare
- Provide emotional and practical support within your home
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of care plans and guidelines to ensure safety
- Support, overcome, and learn to minimise incidents when behaviour can be challenging
What you’ll need to be a successful Children's Support Worker
- A desire to create positive outcomes for vulnerable children and young people
- Empathetic, caring and resilient nature
- At least 6 months experience of working with children or within a similar social care setting
- TMVA restraint training certificate
- Valid UK driving licence
- Current Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
- Right to work in the UK
