Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily management of the children’s residential home in Basildon, ensuring all operations comply with the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015.
- Maintain high standards of care to achieve or sustain a 'Good' or 'Outstanding' Ofsted rating, leading all inspections and quality assurance processes.
- Recruit, mentor, and supervise a dedicated team, promoting a trauma-informed, professional culture with regular appraisals.
- Manage referrals and occupancy levels in collaboration with Local Authorities, ensuring admissions support the therapeutic environment.
- Act as the safeguarding lead, implementing robust risk assessments and protection policies.
- Oversee the service budget, resource allocation, and staffing rotas to ensure sustainability and quality of care.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with families, social workers, healthcare professionals, and external stakeholders.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Registered Manager or Deputy Manager within a children’s residential setting.
- In-depth knowledge of the SCCIF, Ofsted inspection frameworks, and safeguarding legislation.
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
- Proven leadership skills with experience managing challenging behaviour through positive, therapeutic interventions.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, for reporting and multi-agency meetings.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
