This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team in delivering high-quality, tailored care and support to children with emotional, behavioural, and complex interpersonal needs. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee comprehensive care plans tailored to each young person’s needs, including education, social, emotional, therapeutic, and health aspects.
  • Recruit, support, and develop a strong team to ensure consistent, high standards of care.
  • Implement systems to consult with young people about their care and involve them in decision-making.
  • Assign Key Workers to implement individualised care plans effectively.
  • Maintain high standards of care in line with regulatory requirements and the Home’s Statement of Purpose.
  • Handle complaints and child protection concerns promptly and appropriately.
  • Collaborate with parents, carers, and professionals to promote the welfare of young people.
  • Participate in care planning and review meetings, ensuring the best outcomes for children.
  • Foster a safe, nurturing environment and promote a positive culture within the home.
  • Manage the home’s budget and resources efficiently, ensuring commercial success.

Requirements

  • Passionate about making a difference in the lives of children in care.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in residential care of children, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role within the last 5 years.
  • Level 3 in Children’s Residential Care is essential.
  • Level 5 in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare is preferred; if not held, enrolment within 6 months of starting is required.
  • Strong understanding of childcare legislation, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent planning, organisational, and team leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of managing children with behavioural, emotional, and social difficulties.
  • Full UK driving licence is required.
