We are seeking dedicated Residential Support Workers to join a dynamic organisation committed to making a difference in the lives of young people in the Preston area (PR3) of Lancashire. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to start or further their career in residential care and education.
As a Support Worker, you will work within a safe, nurturing environment providing high-quality care and personalised support to young people with complex needs. The role involves assisting young people with daily living activities, implementing tailored care plans, and encouraging independence, social skills, and well-being. Candidates should be experienced or eager to work in SEN and EBD settings, familiar with safeguarding procedures, and hold relevant qualifications such as NVQ in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
About the Role
The Children’s Residential Support Worker role is based on-site with a specialist school supporting young people with autism and other SEN needs.
- Available shifts:
- FT days (40 hours) 3 shifts on, 4 shifts off
- PT days (30 hours)
- FT Nights (40 hours) 4 x 10-hour waking night shifts
- PT nights (20 hours) 2 x 10-hour waking night shifts
Key responsibilities include providing 1:1 or 2:1 support, assisting with personal care, and ensuring engagement in activities that promote independence and social development. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, following individualised care plans to ensure each young person’s needs are met with compassion and professionalism.
Candidate Requirements:
- Passionate about working with children with complex needs, including autism and behavioural challenges
- Patient, empathetic, and resilient attitude
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Hold a current Enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one
- Possess the right to work in the UK
- A Driving Licence is essential for this position
- Relevant experience or qualifications in residential care, SEN support, or related fields are advantageous
