A leading specialist provider in Aberdare is seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to support learners with Special Educational Needs (SEN). This full-time role offers a rewarding opportunity to work with children with ASD, PDA, Global Delay Disorder, and challenging behaviour. Key Responsibilities
- Support and supervise learners with ASD, PDA, Global Delay Disorder, or challenging behaviour
- Assist learners at the start and end of the school day
- Help staff prepare classrooms for lessons
- Work with learners in small groups or on a 1:1 basis
- Support the delivery of lessons alongside the class teacher
- Assist learners during break times and lunchtimes
- Engage learners in classroom and out-of-classroom activities
- Follow the school's behaviour management policies
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 months experience working with children in schools, nurseries, or childcare settings
- Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) (support available)
- Current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
- References covering the last two years (no gaps)
- Right to work in the UK
