An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to join a leading provider of children's services in Hinckley. This role offers the chance to work within a supportive team, helping vulnerable children and young people develop confidence, independence, and social skills in a nurturing environment. The Deputy Manager will play a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality residential care, ensuring safeguarding standards are maintained, and fostering a safe and engaging environment for service users.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build trust and develop nurturing relationships with children and young people to promote their independence and wellbeing
  • Work collaboratively with parents, carers, and professionals to support positive outcomes
  • Lead staff shifts and conduct supervision sessions to ensure high standards of care
  • Support the Registered Manager with audits, documentation, and compliance activities
  • Contribute to the maintenance and cleanliness of the home, including cooking and general upkeep
  • Accurately record and report information to support safeguarding and protection of children and young people
  • Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are followed at all times
  • Promote a safe environment and respond effectively to any risks or incidents

Requirements

  • Level 3 qualification relevant to Residential Childcare
  • Willingness to work towards the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care and Children & Young People’s Services
  • Minimum of 1 year supervisory and shift-leading experience in a children’s residential setting
  • Knowledge of OFSTED regulations and standards for children’s homes
  • Experience in safeguarding, recording, and reporting to protect children and young people
