Head Registered Veterinary Nurse - Help Build a New Practice in Nine Elms

If you were setting up a nursing team from scratch, what would you do differently?

VetPulse is a new, independently owned small animal practice opening on Wilcox Road in Nine Elms, London. We're looking for a Head RVN to join our founding team and help turn those ideas into reality.

This is your chance to shape how the practice works, from nursing routines and patient care to how the team shares ideas, learns and supports one another.

You'll work closely with Adomas, who is leading the set-up and will manage the practice. He began his career in veterinary nursing in Lithuania, and the people behind VetPulse have experience running two successful clinics there. VetPulse is a separate UK venture, and they want the founding team to help decide what works best here as the clinic grows.

What will you help build?

VetPulse will open with a smaller team and grow from there. As Head RVN, you'll help develop nursing protocols and workflows, support your colleagues and make the most of their individual strengths. If one nurse loves theatre and another enjoys consultations, we want to hear how you'd help them thrive.

You'll help plan the rota as the practice grows. The full-time working week is 40 hours across a planned shift rota, with no overnight work or on-call rota. We plan to start with weekday opening, then develop shifts that work for everyone, balancing colleagues’ preferences with the needs of the practice. We're also open to discussing part-time hours or a working pattern that fits around other commitments.

The new 142 sqm clinic will have separate dog and cat waiting areas and consulting rooms, a spacious prep room, an in-house IDEXX laboratory, digital X-ray and fluoroscopy, ultrasound, dental equipment and modern anaesthesia and monitoring systems. One consulting room has a separate exit for families who need a little more privacy at a difficult time.

Who are we looking for?

We're looking for a hands-on Head RVN who enjoys supporting others, communicating openly and setting a positive example. You'll help us build a team that shares ideas, respects different perspectives and pulls together when things get busy. We want to create a culture we can all be proud of, where people feel comfortable speaking up, asking for help and helping one another succeed.

Previous leadership experience would be welcome, but we'd also love to hear from an experienced RVN who's ready to take that step and excited by the chance to build a team.

What's on offer?

  • Salary from £38,000 as a guide, with your experience, skills and salary expectations taken into account
  • Support for further qualifications and three days to attend courses or seminars
  • 80% discount on services for your own pets and 25% discount on products
  • The opportunity to help shape a benefits package that genuinely works for the team

If you'd love to be part of a new practice where your ideas will be heard and you can help build a great team from the start, we'd love to hear from you.
